ABOUT THE FLUENT MIND

At The Fluent Mind, we believe that each brain is unique and should be celebrated. Our program will provide you and your child with the tools you need to understand, accept and enhance your (or your child's) unique brain. We offer two different tracks that can be used together or separately, depending on what is best for your family.

Brain Training:  Many people assume that our cognitive functions are fixed. Research shows that our brain functions can actually be enhanced, developed and influenced by several factors. Through Cognitive Enhancement Training, participants learn about their current strengths and challenges and are provided with specific training that enhances and develops their brain ‘muscles’. Brain Training is excellent for:

  • ADHD

  • Auditory Processing disorder

  • Learning differences

  • Autism

  • Anyone who would like to improve their overall brain functioning

Parent Therapy:

We understand that parenting is hard. We want to support you in feeling empowered to parent your child and find joy in your family. Our approach is collaborative, relational, and warm. We are passionate about supporting you in addressing the challenges in your life, including those connected to relationships, marriage, mood, parenting, self-esteem, navigating divorce, feeling 'stuck,' addictions, adolescent issues, and more.

We use a mix of several different effective practices, including Positive Psychology, DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), Cognitive-Behavioral techniques, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused, and SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions). You can learn to recognize your resilience and strengths through parent therapy, giving you the buoyancy to navigate challenges and build better relationships.
